Burns

Description:

Injury to the skin or deeper tissues caused by sun, hot liquids, fire, electricity or chemicals. The degree of severity of most burns is based on the size and depth of the burn.

Causes:

  • Fire.
  • Hot liquid or steam.
  • Hot metal, glass or other objects.
  • Electrical currents.
  • Radiation, such as that from X-rays.
  • Sunlight

Symptoms:

  • Blister
  • Peeling
  • Total loss of colour
  • Redness
  • Flushing or sweating
